sweetpea, butterfly, and pear thinning

saw this butterfly/moth in the greenhouse. its not so vibrant with its wings closed. good camouflage.

i think i may have thinned the pear nubbins too early, maybe knocked too many nubs loose. at least on the parker and summercrisp trees. theres SIGNIFICANTLY less pears on those two trees than i left!! i'm very disappointed to have lost SO many of the parkers. i know there WERE tons still on that tree, like well over 100, and now theres not even 10 left. so yeah, very disappointing.

Luscious, thinned 52. probably could have thinned the remaining by at least half. i think i left too many on the tree and they're all going to be tiny.

patten, thinned 17. still a good amount on the tree.

summer crisp, thinned only 5, only damaged ones. maybe 15 left on the tree.
