day lilies

i got my first flower off the bela lugosi day lily that i planted last year. very pretty. but um, not purple. its supposed to be a dark purple. perhaps the package was mislabeled. still, it is quite lovely.

they're mostly dead now. not coming back this year. i'm still hopeful for next year. i hear the orange 'ditch' lilies are hard to kill.
