whats left to paint inside:









after 3 days of rain, some raindrops on the south end of the roof

put the new handle on the door (the old one didnt work)


had to cut, paint, and install a bump out for the door latch


reversed screen and glass in door so that glass is on bottom and screen is on top. i did this so the dogs dont jump up and put their paws thru the screen if i'm inside the greenhouse and they are not. the sliding glass pane to close the screen is in the lowered/open position in this photo.

my tortoise is an escape artist

sweetpea tried (but failed) to get out of her enclosure. her enclosure is right behind me when i'm sitting at the computer. i turned around and this is what i saw.





you can kinda see my computer in the background


so i planted a bunch of aloe in that corner to deter her


instead she just ate the aloe.




three days later, its entire gone. she ate 6 smaller aloe plants. (yes aloe plants are safe for tortoises to eat)

greenhouse roof finished, windows and walls put in place (greenhouse post #10)

a piece of plywood is cut to fit that last corner of the roof (picture taken from below, looking up)


a piece of roofing rubber is stuck down along the joint between the plywood and the glass


dad bought a big roll of sheet metal


we rolled out the sheet metal and cut it off


two more times


first length of sheet metal attached. caulked along the bottom edge, nailed along the top edge.


bent over at the sides and nailed down


puppy supervised, and tried to get us to play keep-away with him

third length of sheet metal attached. overlapping and bend over the back/north side. not yet bent over on the west side.

a lot of cutting was done today. sawdust was everywhere.
