a tale of beans

this years beans came from seeds i saved last fall. they are "kentucky blue" pole beans, and they're wonderful.

one evening molly came running inside from the yard and her breath smelled like beans. turned out she'd been in my garden grazing. these are the beans molly nibbled on the vine.


the beans i give the dogs, the curly ones, the bent ones, the skinny on one end and fat on the other ones, the overgrown ones...


my bean sleeves to protect my arms from the leaves that give me itchy rashes.


just a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves cut off, and a strip of material across the back to hold the sleeves UP while i'm picking.
